Early October is not “too late” and not “send 80 cold emails.” For Japanese players, it is a materials month that lines up with how U.S. programs actually work: fall is the official season; coaches are busy with match weeks, but they still bookmark clean profiles for the next recruiting class and for spring evaluation windows.
This month, do four concrete things. (1) Capture two full games plus a 3–5 minute highlight with a clear title card (name, graduation year, position, club). (2) Lock an English test date on the same calendar as recruiting. Eligibility Center and admission are separate tracks from coach interest. (3) Build a short FIT list by level band (DI–DIII / NAIA / NJCAA), not a dream-name list. Use minutes, academic load, and family budget as filters. (4) Send a small batch of personalized first emails (position need + your one-line role + film links), then follow up in 7–14 days. Silence is not always a no; timing often is.
Families: treat interest, written aid terms, admission, I-20, and F-1 as different steps. If you want a calm October plan for your year and position, message us: Start here
