"When do we start?" is one of the first questions families ask.
Bottom line: use Grade 10 for orientation, Grade 11 to build film/English/academics, Grade 12 for recruiting through visa. Earlier widens options—but a clear 90-day plan still works if you're later.
Grade 10 — map reality
Understand FIT over team-hunting; learn DI–NJCAA differences; protect grades/English; start filming habits.
Grade 11 — build the package
Update highlights + full games; plan TOEFL/Duolingo; name your position/style; set a realistic division band.
Grade 12 — recruit and file
Coach outreach, camps, calls; applications and eligibility; remember interest ≠ admission ≠ visa; prep life abroad.
If you feel behind
Don't quit on grade number alone. Cut the next 90 days from current film, grades, and English.
